Meat Free Monday for Schools

In this video Paul McCartney explains the benefits of teaching our children about food and how they are embracing their future through making small changes. It is well documented that meat production has a much higher price on the environment that the production of veg. We have been having meat free meals many days through the week with thanks to our new organic veg box and organic shopping. We are not vegetarian but we don't feel that every meal revolves around meat but that really hasn't always been the case. It's not difficult to swap meat for some really hearty...

Are cows polluting the earth?
Posted by 1 on
Who would have thought that so much pollution can come from farming beef for the traditional American burger industry. This video shows the extent of the damage that farming cows and the production of burgers is having on our precious environment. See what the hidden cost of burgers is below. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ut3URdEzlKQ#t=259 So, are cows polluting the earth? What can we do to stop it? While this seems to be a topic for hot debate one thing remains true - if you had enough to have a headache surely you have had too much anyway. If however (and it is approaching the festive season) you want to try out some organic wines we have found these stockists who may be able to temp your taste buds. Look carefully...
Should organic carrots be orange or purple?
Posted by 1 on
This is an age old debate, should organic carrots be orange or purple? As many of you may know all carrots used to be purple in colour. That was until the late 16th century when the Dutch growers are thought to of mixed the normal purple carrots with mutant yellow and white carrots. The yellow and white 'mutant' carrots were not rare at the time, just not harvested as they did not contain the anthocyanins that the purple carrots did. This lead the growers to believe and they may well have been correct that they were not as good for...
